ANNUAL MEETING AND ACADEMIC ORIENTATION STUDENTS OF POLITEKNIK NEGERI JEMBER (POLIJE) WITH MANAGEMENT AND SCIENCE UNIVERSITY (MSU) MALAYSIA ON JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM

Strengthening cooperation with foreign universities to realize the long-term vision of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) to become an Outstanding Polytechnic in Asia 2035, Polije held a coordination meeting with Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia in Shah Alam on Thursday, 7 December 2023.

Representatives from Polije were represented by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Jember, Saiful Anwar, S. Tp, M.P., and Vice Director for Planning, Collaboration, and Information Systems, Agung Wahyono, SP, M.SI, Ph.D., who was received directly by the President of MSU, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

At the meeting, the Director of Polije said that this cooperation will continue to be carried out and be better in the future. The facilities owned by MSU are also very good, it is hoped that Polije students who take part in joint degrees will increase and focus more on participating in these activities.

“Thank you to MSU, this is my first time to come and being facilitated well. Polije appreciates this collaboration because three of Polije’s alumni were hired as an international office staff at MSU,” said the Director of Polije.

Meanwhile, Agung Wahyono, SP, M.SI, Ph.D., conveyed about the legal aspect or legality of the program from the Directorate of Institutional and Vocational Higher Education Resources.

“Later there will be a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) from each study program that will be collaborated. In addition, the curriculum between Polije and MSU can be adjusted as well as SKPI Programs that can accommodate courses taken at MSU, so it is not only courses from the Polytechnic,” explained Agung Wahyono, SP, M.SI, Ph.D.

Meanwhile, the President of MSU, expressed his gratitude for the presence of leaders from Polije as MSU partners. The cooperation between MSU and Polije is expected to be improved by existing educational regulations in Indonesia and Malaysia.

“Our goal is to create students and alumni who can think out of the box with this joint degree program,” said the MSU President.

In addition, the MSU President will also find solutions together regarding what things can increase student interest and desire to take part in joint degree programs. MSU will always be proactive to Polije, especially for joint degree programs. (hnf/ang/vig)
