PROUD ACHIEVEMENT BY POLIJE IT STUDENTS AT THE 5TH INNOVILLAGE 2024

Another proud achievement was made by students from the Information Technology Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember at the prestigious 5th Innovillage 2024 competition, organized by PT Telkom Indonesia and Telkom University. Held at the Damar (K) Building Auditorium, Telkom University, Bandung, West Java, the student team—consisting of Syahmi Naufal Saputra (Computer Engineering 2022), Nandita Putri Hanifa Jannah (Informatics Engineering 2023), and Muhammad Rayasya Dziqi Cahyana (Informatics Engineering 2022)—secured 1st Place after a long and competitive process.

The competition attracted 884 teams from 136 universities across Indonesia. Following a rigorous selection process, the NexSynar team was successfully selected as one of the Top 165 social projects to receive funding. Over the next three months, after project implementation and three stages of report submission, the team once again demonstrated outstanding performance by advancing to the Top 50 nationally, where only three teams represented polytechnics and eight teams came from East Java.

“Our innovation aims to support efforts in reducing stunting prevalence at the village level, using a practical and sustainable IoT-based approach,” said Syahmi Naufal Saputra after the award ceremony.

NexSynar’s project, titled “Healthy Cookies to Reduce Stunting Prevalence with IoT-Based Detection Technology at Tanggul Kulon Village’s Posyandu,” combines nutritious food products with a health monitoring system based on the Internet of Things. This innovation supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2 & 3): ending hunger and improving community health.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through intensive guidance from supervising lecturers Mr. Aji Seto Arifianto, S.ST., M.T., and Mr. Aqshal Nur Ikhsan, S.Si., M.Si. “Our lecturers’ mentorship greatly helped us sharpen both our technical skills and social understanding, ensuring our solution was truly applicable and impactful,” added Nandita Putri Hanifa Jannah.

Carrying the theme “Innovate for Impact: Act for Sustainability,” the competition emphasized the importance of sustainable social innovation. As the top winner, the NexSynar team took home the grand prize of IDR 45,000,000.

“We hope this achievement inspires other students to keep innovating and contributing to sustainable development in Indonesia,” said Muhammad Rayasya Dziqi Cahyana on behalf of the team.

This victory once again proves that students from Politeknik Negeri Jember are capable of competing at the national level with innovative and socially impactful projects. (rda)
