POLITEKNIK NEGERI JEMBER SENDS EXCHANGE PROGRAM STUDENTS TO PUH, JAPAN

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) held a Departure Ceremony for students receiving exchange scholarships for the Spring 2025 semester at Prefectural University of Hiroshima (PUH), Japan. The event, held at the Office of International Affairs, was attended by institutional leaders, faculty members, and parents of the students.

On this occasion, Vice Director for Academic Affairs, Surateno, S.Kom., M.Kom., advised students to uphold the institution’s reputation and continuously enhance their academic and soft skills while participating in the program in Japan.

“The trust placed in you must be repaid with achievements and tangible contributions. Take advantage of this opportunity to broaden your horizons and build international networks,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Vice Director for Student Affairs, Wahyu Dewanto, S.Kom., MT., emphasized the importance of adaptation and active involvement in both academic and non-academic activities at PUH.

“Students must be able to adapt to different cultures and education systems. Maintain good communication with lecturers and fellow international students,” he advised.

At the same event, Vice Director for Cooperation, Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., expressed his hopes that this program would serve as a strategic step in strengthening ties between Polije and PUH.

“This program not only opens opportunities for students but also strengthens bilateral relations between Polije and PUH, which we hope will lead to further collaboration in education and research,” he said.

The Head of the Department also provided guidance and motivation to the departing students, stressing that this program is a rare opportunity that should be maximized.

“Use this experience as a stepping stone to achieve bigger dreams,” he encouraged.

Additionally, representatives of the students’ parents conveyed their messages and hopes for the program participants.

“We are very proud and hope our children stay healthy, study well, and bring home valuable experiences that can be applied in the future,” said one of the parents.

A Polije lecturer who is currently pursuing a Doctorate and also serves as the Person in Charge (PIC) at PUH, Rizza Wijaya, provided further guidance to students, urging them to communicate with the university if they encounter any difficulties.

“I will ensure that you receive the support needed while in Japan. Do not hesitate to ask questions and seek help if necessary,” he said.

The event concluded with a group photo session and a prayer for the students’ safety and academic success at PUH. This departure marks a significant step in Polije’s commitment to supporting students’ academic mobility on a global scale. (rda)
