Polije’s International Office Strengthens Service Excellence Through Visa Extension Assistance for Foreign Students

Demonstrating its commitment to excellent international services, the International Office of Politeknik Negeri Jember (KUI Polije) recently provided full assistance to eight foreign students from Jiangsu Agri-Animal Husbandry Vocational College (JSAHVC), China, in extending their student visas. The activity, led by International Office staff member Moch. Siswanto, A.Md, reflects Polije’s continuous effort to ensure the comfort and legal compliance of its international students during their study period in Indonesia.

The visa extension process is an essential administrative procedure for foreign students, allowing them to legally continue their study activities in Indonesia. KUI Polije guided the students through each stage—starting from document preparation, coordination with the immigration office, and on-site verification—ensuring that the process ran smoothly and efficiently.

This initiative is part of Polije’s Service Excellence Program, which aims to provide comprehensive support for international students beyond academic activities. By offering one-stop services for administrative assistance, accommodation, and cultural adaptation, the International Office ensures that international students can focus fully on their learning and research activities at Polije.

The eight JSAHVC students are currently studying in the Department of Animal Science, where they participate in academic classes, laboratory work, and practical sessions at TEFA Milk, Polije’s teaching factory for dairy production. Their activities are supervised by Mrs. Rizki Amalia, Coordinator of the Livestock Study Program, who facilitates both academic mentoring and intercultural learning.

According to Moch. Siswanto, A.Md, this service is not merely an administrative duty but also a form of hospitality that represents the image of Polije as a globally engaged campus. “We want our foreign students to feel supported and welcomed. Visa extension assistance is one of the ways we show that Polije cares about their comfort and success,” he stated.

This practice aligns with Polije’s vision to become a world-class polytechnic excelling in applied science, technology, and business, as well as its mission to promote internationalization through quality education and student mobility programs. The consistent implementation of service excellence helps strengthen Polije’s reputation as a trusted partner for global academic collaboration.

Through activities like this, the International Office continues to improve its internal capacity in cross-border student services, ensuring that all procedures comply with immigration regulations while maintaining efficiency and professionalism. It also builds stronger cooperation with local immigration authorities to facilitate future programs.

In the broader context, the visa assistance initiative reflects Polije’s internationalization indicators—enhancing the institution’s capability to host foreign students, build cultural understanding, and create a globally inclusive academic environment. With continuous improvement and commitment to service excellence, Polije stands as a model of how vocational higher education institutions in Indonesia can uphold global standards in international cooperation and student welfare.
