Polije’s AITeC 2025 Advances Sustainable Agriculture Through Chicken Processing Competition

Jember State Polytechnic (Polije) has reinforced its commitment to global sustainability goals by hosting the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Competition (AITeC) 2025, featuring multiple contest categories including the strategically relevant Chicken Carcass Processing Technique. Held at the Perjuangan 45 Gymnasium courtyard, this competition addresses critical aspects of food production and security aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Polije Director Saiful Anwar emphasized the competition’s alignment with global standards, stating, “The Chicken Carcass Processing category not only tests technical precision but also teaches hygiene protocols and quality output standards.”

He further noted that the competition prepares students for modern livestock industry demands while supporting SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

The competition’s design directly contributes to sustainable food systems by promoting efficient protein processing and reducing food loss. Through practical skill development in carcass handling, participants learn to maximize resource utilization while maintaining food safety standards – crucial elements in achieving sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG 12).

Beyond technical skills, AITeC serves as a platform for professional networking and knowledge exchange.

Saiful Anwar highlighted that “students can hone their skills while expanding professional networks,” creating opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration that accelerates innovation in sustainable agriculture.

Through initiatives like AITeC 2025, Polije strengthens its position as a leading vocational institution driving sustainable agricultural development. The competition exemplifies how practical education can simultaneously address industry needs and global sustainability challenges, preparing a new generation of professionals capable of implementing sustainable solutions in the agro-industrial sector.
