Polije Welcomes New Academic Year with an International Dimension at PKKMB 2025

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) officially commenced the 2025 Academic Year with the Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB) program, marked by the enthusiastic participation of thousands of new students. This year’s PKKMB carried a special significance with the presence of international students, highlighting Polije’s commitment to fostering a multicultural academic environment.

Held at the Polije Jember main campus, the opening ceremony was filled with vibrant energy as freshmen, faculty members, and invited guests came together to celebrate the beginning of an important journey in higher education. The event not only welcomed new students but also emphasized Polije’s vision of becoming a leading vocational higher education institution with global recognition.

One of the most notable aspects of PKKMB 2025 was the participation of international students from various partner universities abroad. Their presence brought an international dimension to the event, enriching the atmosphere with cultural diversity and reinforcing Polije’s role as a hub for global collaboration in vocational education.

The Rector of Polije, in his opening remarks, encouraged students to embrace the values of discipline, innovation, and collaboration. He highlighted the importance of preparing graduates who are not only competent in their fields but also adaptive to global challenges. “With the presence of international students, our campus community will have the opportunity to learn from one another, broadening perspectives and fostering mutual respect,” he stated.

During the PKKMB program, students engaged in a series of orientation activities, including academic briefings, campus tours, motivational sessions, and cultural exchanges. These activities aimed to provide freshmen with a solid foundation for their academic journey while nurturing a sense of belonging and responsibility as part of the Polije community.

The cultural exchange sessions were particularly well-received, as Indonesian and international students interacted through performances, discussions, and sharing of traditions. This cross-cultural engagement created a lively and inclusive environment, reflecting Polije’s spirit of unity in diversity.

Faculty members and senior students also played an active role in guiding the freshmen, ensuring that they felt welcomed and supported. The involvement of the international students further strengthened the learning environment, demonstrating Polije’s readiness to embrace global perspectives in vocational education.

As PKKMB 2025 concluded, the event left a lasting impression on all participants. For the new students, it was the beginning of an exciting academic journey filled with opportunities for growth, while for the international students, it served as a gateway to deeper engagement with Indonesian culture and education. Together, they set the tone for a dynamic academic year at Polije, where local excellence meets global collaboration.
