POLIJE TO HOST AITEC VII 2025, STRENGTHENING TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AND LOCAL WISDOM FOR NATIONAL FOOD SECURITY

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) is set to host the 7th Asia-Australia International Conference on Technology, Education, and Culture (AITEC VII 2025), a prestigious international forum aimed at reinforcing the role of technological innovation and local wisdom in achieving sustainable food security across Indonesia and beyond.

Scheduled to take place in 2025, this year’s AITEC will carry the theme “Strengthening Technology Innovation and Local Wisdom to Ensure Archipelagic Food Security.” The conference is expected to bring together a wide array of international scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students to discuss breakthrough solutions and share best practices in integrating modern agricultural technology with traditional ecological knowledge.

A Platform for Global Collaboration

AITEC VII 2025 aims to serve as a multidisciplinary platform that supports food security and agricultural resilience by bridging technology, culture, and education. The forum will highlight diverse topics, including smart farming, food processing technology, agrotechnology, precision agriculture, green innovation, and socio-cultural approaches to sustainable food production.

According to the Director of Polije, Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., the conference also reaffirms Polije’s commitment to contributing to national development goals and aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger.

“Through AITEC VII, we want to emphasize that food security is not solely a matter of technology but also requires cultural sensitivity and local wisdom that has been proven effective for generations,” said Anwar.

Bringing Together Knowledge and Culture

What sets AITEC VII apart is its dual emphasis on both innovation and culture. In addition to academic presentations, the event will feature cultural exhibitions and local food showcases, allowing participants to experience the richness of Indonesia’s agricultural heritage.

The inclusion of local wisdom, such as traditional farming techniques and indigenous crop management systems, aligns with global discourses that advocate for more inclusive and context-specific solutions to food insecurity.

Driving Innovation in Vocational Education

As one of Indonesia’s leading vocational institutions, Polije has long integrated applied research and innovation into its curriculum. AITEC serves as an extension of this vision by promoting cross-border academic collaboration and industry engagement. It also facilitates the participation of vocational students in international discourse, strengthening their global competencies and innovation mindsets.

International Reach and Strategic Partnerships

Polije will invite renowned institutions from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, China, and other ASEAN countries to participate as speakers, collaborators, and research partners. This cross-cultural exchange is expected to spark new research partnerships, international internship programs, and co-authored publications in fields related to agrotechnology, food science, and rural development.

A Call for Shared Responsibility

AITEC VII 2025 serves as a timely reminder of the shared global responsibility to ensure food availability for all, particularly in the face of climate change, land degradation, and resource scarcity. By fostering synergies between modern science and traditional practices, the conference seeks to promote inclusive, sustainable, and locally adaptable solutions.
