The Research and Community Service Center (P3M) of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) organized a SINTA Data Update Workshop for all lecturers on Wednesday, July 24, 2025. The event was held virtually via Zoom Meeting and featured two experts from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (DPPM Kemdiktisaintek), Rusmal Firmansyah, S.Kom., M.Kom., a member of the SINTA development team, and Ade Irmanto.
The workshop was officially opened by Polije Vice Director I, Surateno, S.Kom., M.Kom., who underlined the importance of updating lecturer performance data in SINTA as a key institutional benchmark.
“Updating SINTA data is not only about individual performance but also directly influences institutional achievements. Currently, Polije is ranked in the Utama category based on SINTA scores, and we must work together to improve it,” he said.
Head of P3M Polije, Dr. Ir. Hariadi Subagja, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM, reinforced the obligation of lecturers to align their SINTA profiles with Google Scholar, Garuda, Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS).
“All Polije lecturers must update their data so that our research outputs are properly documented at both national and international levels,” he emphasized.
During the presentation, Ade Irmanto highlighted the importance of synchronizing lecturer publication profiles with SINTA and improving the number and quality of accredited journals.
“The quantity and quality of journals significantly affect a university’s research performance,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Rusmal Firmansyah provided technical guidance on updating lecturer profiles across multiple databases to ensure synchronization with SINTA. He reminded participants that SINTA is not a real-time system, making periodic updates essential.
“The more frequently lecturers update their publication data, the stronger the reputation of both individual academics and the institution,” Rusmal concluded.
Through this initiative, Polije reaffirms its commitment to strengthening research performance and academic visibility while supporting its long-term vision of becoming a Leading Polytechnic in Asia by 2035.
