Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) recently held a “Training for Improving Public Service Quality” on Tuesday, July 9, 2025, with the aim of enhancing the competency and professionalism of service providers across the institution. The training was part of Polije’s strategic efforts to strengthen its commitment to excellent, accountable, and community-oriented public services.
Participants included front-line staff and administrative personnel who directly engage with students, partners, and the public. The training focused on topics such as effective communication, empathy in service delivery, problem-solving, and maintaining consistent standards of excellence in daily operations.
Interactive simulations and workshops allowed participants to experience real-world service scenarios. These sessions reinforced the importance of responsiveness, courtesy, and the delivery of services that align with national public service standards. The training also emphasized the role of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ensuring clarity and consistency in all service interactions.
This initiative is a part of Polije’s broader commitment to building a “Zona Integritas” or Integrity Zone—an anti-corruption and service improvement program endorsed by the Indonesian government. By empowering its personnel with service excellence training, Polije continues to advance its goal of becoming a trustworthy and accountable institution.
Polije, as a leading vocational higher education institution in Indonesia, envisions becoming a globally recognized polytechnic, especially in Asia, by 2035. The institution’s mission focuses on producing innovative, entrepreneurial, and industry-ready graduates through applied education, research, and community engagement.
Enhancing the quality of public services is closely tied to the institution’s reputation. Excellent service contributes to building a positive institutional image, which in turn strengthens public trust and stakeholder confidence. A strong institutional image leads to improved institutional performance—one of the key pillars in Polije’s roadmap to becoming a center of vocational excellence in both national and international contexts.
By continuously improving its public services, Polije not only addresses the immediate needs of students and stakeholders but also positions itself as a model of integrity and professionalism among vocational institutions. This kind of institutional maturity is essential to compete in the global higher education landscape and to meet international accreditation standards.
Moving forward, Polije will continue to invest in professional development, performance-based training, and service innovation to reinforce its strategic vision. With every improvement in service quality, the institution moves closer to realizing its ambition of becoming a top-tier polytechnic in Indonesia and a competitive player in the global vocational education arena.
