Lecturers from the Department of Agricultural Technology (JTP), Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije), together with two students, carried out a Community Service Program at UMKM Aneka Keripik Arjasa, located in Arjasa District. The initiative, funded by Polije’s Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), aims to improve production capacity while strengthening marketing strategies.
As part of the program, the team provided deep frying and spinner machines to support banana chips production, making the process more efficient and hygienic. Additionally, the UMKM owner and employees received training on how to leverage TikTok as a digital marketing platform.
“With these tools, frying and oil-draining processes become more efficient, and the results are more consistent. Meanwhile, the TikTok training helps the UMKM take advantage of digital trends to boost sales,” explained one of the lecturers involved.
The activity was carried out interactively, with the UMKM owner and employees enthusiastically trying the new machines and learning tips for creating engaging promotional content. The Head of Arjasa Village, Wasi’a, praised the initiative.
“This support not only improves product quality but also opens up greater market opportunities,” he said.
Polije hopes that this program will help UMKM Aneka Keripik Arjasa scale up both in terms of production and marketing, while also strengthening the competitiveness of local food industries.
