IISMA 2024 SERIES UPDATE: TWO POLIJE STUDENTS DEPART TO NATIONAL PINGTUNG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TAIWAN FOR IISMA 2024 PROGRAM

Jember – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) continues to show its existence in the international scale by sending two students to take part in the 2024 Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program. The two students are Lammalif Thufail A from the Food Industry Technology Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, and Mochammad Khairul from the Seed Production Engineering Study Program, Department of Agricultural Production. They will continue their studies for one semester at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, departing on August 5, 2024.

The IISMA 2024 program is a flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) that aims to enhance international experience and student competence in various disciplines. Lammalif and Khairul were selected from hundreds of Indonesian students who participated in a rigorous selection to get the opportunity to study abroad through this program.

Vice Director for Cooperation at Polije, Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the success of these two students. “The departure of Lammalif and Khairul to Taiwan is a concrete manifestation of Polije’s commitment to continue supporting student mobility to the international world. We hope they can learn as much as possible and bring back knowledge that can contribute to the advancement of the agricultural and technology sectors in Indonesia,” Agung said.

Lammalif Thufail A, who will study Food Technology, expressed his gratitude and hope. “I feel very lucky to get this opportunity. I will try my best to absorb new knowledge and experiences in Taiwan,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mochammad Khairul, who will focus on Seed Production Engineering, also feels enthusiastic about this opportunity. “This is a great experience for me. I hope to learn a lot about seed production techniques and modern agricultural technology in Taiwan,” he said.

Both students are expected to make a major contribution to the development of food technology and agricultural production in Indonesia after returning from Taiwan. Their departure is one of the manifestations of the IISMA program which provides opportunities for Indonesian students to study at the best universities in the world. (rda)
