The Department of Information Technology at Politeknik Negeri Jember proudly hosted a guest lecture by Puan Suhaila Khalip from Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. The session, held at the Information Technology Department Building, focused on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and was attended by 100 students from both the international class and regular class of the D4 Information Technology program.
With a wealth of experience in the field of user interface design and usability, Puan Suhaila delivered an engaging and thought-provoking presentation that examined the evolving relationship between humans and technology. She highlighted the importance of designing systems that prioritize user experience, accessibility, and adaptability in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
The lecture provided insights into the fundamentals of HCI, including user-centered design, cognitive psychology in computing, and real-world applications in both industry and academia. Using case studies and practical examples, Puan Suhaila encouraged students to critically evaluate the digital tools they interact with daily and imagine how they can be improved for wider usability.
Students responded with enthusiasm, participating in discussions and asking questions that reflected a strong grasp of the subject.
