Jember, September 2, 2024 – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) once again welcomed international students through the Darmasiswa RI program, an initiative of the Indonesian government to introduce Indonesian culture and education to the world. This year, Polije received two international students, namely Mohamed Alnour Alhafiz Mohamed Alnour Albakrey from Sudan and MD. Toufik Nur Rashid from Bangladesh.
Both students will undergo a 10-month lecture period at Polije, precisely in the Language Academic Support Unit (UPA), where they will study Indonesian culture and language. Their arrival was warmly welcomed by the Polije leadership, lecturers, and students.
The Director of Polije, Saiful Anwar, S.TP., MP expressed his hope that the two students could make the most of this opportunity to broaden their horizons and skills. “We are very proud to be able to host Indonesian Darmasiswa students. We hope Mohammed and Toufiq can adapt well to the academic and social environment at Polije,” said Saiful Anwar, S.TP, MP.
During their stay at Polije, Mohammed and Toufiq will attend lectures in the study programs they have chosen, as well as participate in various cultural and academic activities held by the campus. In addition, they will also attend Indonesian language classes specifically designed to help them communicate and interact with the local community.
The Darmasiswa RI program is one of the Indonesian government’s efforts to strengthen relations between nations through education and culture. The participation of foreign students like Mohammed and Toufiq is expected to enrich the diversity on the Polije campus and increase cross-cultural understanding among students.
With a spirit of learning and openness to understanding Indonesian culture, it is hoped that Mohammed and Toufiq will bring valuable experiences when they return to their home countries. Polije will always support and facilitate all their needs while in Indonesia. (rda)
