Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) held a series of activities to commemorate its 36th Anniversary. This event was held as a form of gratitude and togetherness of the Polije extended family which includes lecturers, staff, students, retirees, and alumni. Various activities held, such as a healthy walk, coloring competition, mass circumcision, and SME’s bazaar, also enlivened the celebration.
The activity began with a healthy walk around the main Polije campus area which was attended by all elements of the campus extended family. The atmosphere became even more lively with the laughter and cheers of participants who enjoyed this moment of togetherness.
After the healthy walk, the event continued with a mass circumcision intended for the children of the Polije extended family. This program received a warm welcome from parents who felt helped by the campus’ support.
“Social activities such as mass circumcisions are part of Polije’s dedication to the community, especially the campus family and the surrounding environment,” said Saiful Anwar, Director of Polije.
Then, the event continued with a coloring competition for children of Polije employees. This competition carries the theme “Go Green Campus” which aims to instill awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness.
“With the green campus concept, we want to teach children to love the environment from an early age, because environmental cleanliness is very important,” he added.
In addition, the Dies Natalis event was also enlivened by an UMKM bazaar featuring products from Polije students and employees. This bazaar is an event for students and employees to showcase their work, ranging from food products, handicrafts, to clothing. The presence of this SME’s bazaar also provides support for independent businesses and entrepreneurship among the Polije academic community.
The peak of the celebration was marked by the distribution of door prizes for healthy walk participants, which further added to the excitement of the atmosphere. The door prizes distributed varied, ranging from electronic devices to the main prize of a bicycle. Stage entertainment in the form of music and dance from Polije students also entertained all the participants who attended.
Polije Director, Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., expressed his gratitude for the implementation of this activity.
“At the age of 36, Polije wants to continue to grow into an excellent and competitive educational institution. This Dies Natalis activity is a form of our gratitude for Polije’s achievements and also a means of friendship for the entire Polije family,” said the Polije Director.
Furthermore, the Polije Director expressed his hope that the entire Polije community can support and pray for the sustainability of Polije in the future.
“We greatly hope that in this 36th Dies Natalis activity, we will receive prayers and appreciation from the entire Polije community for our proud achievements, especially in 2024,” he said. The celebration of the 36th Dies Natalis is a momentum for togetherness for the Polije family. With the new spirit that has been created, Polije hopes to continue to innovate, improve achievements, and make real contributions to the advancement of education in Jember and its surroundings. (rda)
