POLITEKNIK NEGERI JEMBER LECTURERS EXPLORE HOSPITALITY PERSONALIZATION TRENDS 

Two lecturers from the Department of Language, Communication, and Tourism at Politeknik Negeri Jember, Vigo Dewangga, S.S., M.Pd. and Alfi Hidayatu Miqawati, S.Pd., M.Pd., recently participated in an international course discussing groundbreaking advancements in hospitality personalization. The event brought together professionals and academics to share knowledge on tailoring guest experiences through innovative practices and cutting-edge technology. 

The course highlighted the growing importance of personalization in the hospitality industry, with a focus on enhancing guest satisfaction by leveraging data-driven strategies. Topics included understanding guest preferences, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for predictive personalization, and employing dynamic pricing and tailored offers to cater to individual needs. 

Vigo Dewangga expressed his enthusiasm, “This seminar has deepened our insight into how the hospitality sector can evolve to meet modern demands. Personalization is no longer a luxury but a necessity to remain competitive and relevant.” 

Alfi added, “The concepts discussed have immense potential for application in education and industry practices. This knowledge will allow us to equip students with the skills to navigate and innovate in this transformative era.” 

The event also explored the ethical implications of data usage, emphasizing the need for transparency and trust-building between service providers and guests. Participants agreed that while technology drives personalization, human touch remains an integral component of hospitality excellence.
