Polije’s Information Technology Department Holds EPIM 2025 to Strengthen Global Competitiveness

The Information Technology Department (JTI) of Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) once again successfully hosted the Expo and Student Scientific Week (EPIM) 2025, marking a decade of consistent achievements in fostering innovation and creativity. The event, organized by the Student Association of JTI (HMJTI), culminated on August 24, 2025, and became a platform for students and young talents to showcase breakthroughs in technology and digital creativity.

Polije’s Vice Director for Academic Affairs, Surateno, S.Kom., M.Kom., officially opened the event and highlighted its milestone.

“EPIM represents JTI Polije’s commitment to nurturing innovative, creative, and industry-relevant students. A decade of consistent achievement is something we can all be proud of,” he stated.

The main agenda of EPIM 2025 included a Project-Based Learning (PBL) Exhibition, a motivational talkshow with alumnus Arief Febrianto, S.E., AWP, and a National Seminar on Artificial Intelligence featuring distinguished experts Dr. Denny Trias Utomo, S.Si., M.T. and Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Gede Arya Astawa, S.T., M.Kom. The event concluded with the awarding of winners from the EPIM-IT Student Competition.

Head of the Information Technology Department, Hendra Yufit Riskiawan, S.Kom., M.Cs., emphasized the importance of the PBL exhibition.

“A total of 18 outstanding projects were showcased, ranging from web, mobile, and desktop applications to Internet of Things (IoT) innovations. These projects demonstrate not only technical skills but also creativity and teamwork,” he explained.

The IT Student Competition, designed for high school, vocational school, and university students across Indonesia, attracted remarkable enthusiasm. Over 110 participants competed in four categories: Videography, Packaging Design, Poster, and Website Programming.

The exhibition also featured engaging attractions such as Virtual Reality (VR) gaming booths, JTI Nova teaching factory, faculty research showcases, international class promotion, and the introduction of the new D4 Computer Engineering Technology program. Adding to the significance of the event, the Head of Jember’s Industry and Trade Office attended, signaling strong regional government support for the growth of digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

The success of EPIM 2025 highlights Polije’s long-term vision of becoming an Excellent Polytechnic in Asia by 2035. Events like EPIM not only strengthen academic and industrial collaboration but also prepare graduates to compete at an international level. By integrating digital creativity, applied research, and cross-border partnerships, Polije is aligning itself with global education standards while responding to the challenges of Society 5.0.

Polije’s participation in international networks, student mobility programs, and teaching factories demonstrates its readiness to elevate innovation and entrepreneurship from a regional scale to the global stage. Through initiatives such as EPIM, Polije continues to cultivate future leaders who will drive technological advancement and strengthen Indonesia’s presence in the global digital economy.
