Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) recently convened a focused socialisation event to introduce its new strategic plan (Renstra) for the period 2025–2029. The event gathered academic, administrative, and student representatives at the main hall to align all stakeholders with the institution’s roadmap towards educational excellence.
The strategic plan underscores Polije’s vision to evolve into a world-class vocational higher education institution excelling in agriculture, technology and entrepreneurship. Complementing this, its mission includes providing innovative applied learning, conducting impactful research and community service, strengthening partnerships at national and international levels, and enhancing institutional governance and sustainability.
The 2025–2029 roadmap is internationalisation: Polije aims to expand global linkages through more student and staff mobility, dual-degree programmes, international internships, and collaborative research with overseas institutions. This global dimension is expected to raise Polije’s profile in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Another pillar of the plan is educational innovation and applied learning. Polije will intensify the integration of its teaching-factory (TEFA) model across departments, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in real-industry settings. Through this approach, the institution hopes to enhance graduate employability, entrepreneurial mindset and readiness for global competition.
Polije also places emphasis on governance and institutional management as part of its reform agenda. For the period 2025–2029, the plan outlines improvements in digitalisation of academic and administrative services, merit-based human resource systems, transparent budgeting and performance-driven organizational culture, aimed at creating a more agile and responsive campus.
The strategic plan further targets community and regional impact, positioning Polije as a driver of local development through vocational education. By strengthening linkages with industry, government, and community stakeholders, Polije intends to contribute to socio-economic resilience, regional innovation ecosystems and sustainable practices in East Java and surrounding areas.
During the socialisation event, leadership emphasised that every faculty, unit, and study programme must align with the plan’s objectives and indicators. Performance metrics will include international accreditation, graduate mobility rates, research outputs, industry partnerships and community service impact. All units are expected to adopt this plan as a guiding compass for their operational strategies.
As Polije embarks on this next strategic phase, the institution calls on its entire community—students, lecturers, staff, alumni and partners—to actively participate in the transformation. With a shared commitment to the vision, mission, innovation and global engagement, Polije is poised to scale new heights as a vocational institution ready to thrive on the world stage.
