POLIJE STUDENTS INTRODUCE ‘SERENITY’ PALM WAX AROMATHERAPY CANDLES TO DOMESTIC AND REGIONAL MARKETS

A group of students from the International Marketing Management program at Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) has launched an innovative product named ‘Serenity’—a line of palm wax-based aromatherapy candles aimed at both domestic and regional markets. This initiative reflects the students’ commitment to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly products while tapping into the growing demand for wellness items.

The ‘Serenity’ candles are crafted using palm wax, a renewable resource known for its clean-burning properties and minimal environmental impact. By choosing palm wax over traditional paraffin, the students aim to offer a healthier alternative for consumers seeking natural home fragrance solutions.

Each candle in the ‘Serenity’ line is infused with carefully selected essential oils, providing a range of soothing scents designed to enhance relaxation and well-being. The students have emphasized quality and sustainability in their production process, ensuring that the candles are both effective and environmentally responsible.

The project not only showcases the students’ entrepreneurial skills but also aligns with Polije’s mission to foster innovation and practical learning experiences. By developing a market-ready product, the students gain valuable insights into product development, marketing strategies, and consumer engagement.

In addition to targeting the domestic market, the students have set their sights on regional expansion, recognizing the potential for growth in neighboring countries. Their approach includes leveraging online platforms and participating in trade exhibitions to increase visibility and attract a broader customer base.

The ‘Serenity’ candles have received positive feedback from initial customers, who praise the product’s calming aromas and eco-friendly composition. This response underscores the market’s readiness for sustainable wellness products and validates the students’ efforts in addressing this niche.

Looking ahead, the students plan to expand the ‘Serenity’ line by introducing new scents and exploring innovative packaging solutions that further emphasize sustainability. They also aim to collaborate with local artisans and suppliers to support the community and ensure ethical sourcing practices.

The launch of ‘Serenity’ serves as an inspiring example of how academic initiatives can translate into real-world impact, blending education, entrepreneurship, and environmental consciousness. As the students continue to develop their brand, they contribute to a growing movement toward sustainable living and mindful consumerism. (rda)
