Polije Cultivates Young Farmers with School Chrysanthemum Program

Jember State Polytechnic is nurturing environmental awareness through agriculture. The “Green Generation” program teaches chrysanthemum cultivation to elementary students. This initiative introduces farming early to build nature-conscious futures.

The hands-on training occurred at Polije’s Teaching Factory on September 11, 2025. Students learned practical planting techniques from lecturers and university mentors. The interactive session covered soil preparation to plant care.

Team leader Hanif Fatur Rohman emphasized the program’s dual benefits.

“Children learn life processes and environmental responsibility through planting,” he stated. The activity builds character while teaching sustainable agriculture.

The school welcomed this innovative approach to environmental education. Teachers hope the program continues developing young learners’ agricultural literacy.

This initiative reinforces Polije’s role in promoting sustainable farming knowledge. It demonstrates how vocational institutions can inspire younger generations toward environmental stewardship.
