Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) and Kyungpook National University (KNU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea. The signing of this MoU is an important step in strengthening international cooperation between the two educational institutions.
Vice Director IV of Polije, Agung Wahyono, SP., M.Si., Ph. D, and representatives from Kyungpook National University led the signing procession. The collaborations listed in the MoU cover various fields, such as student and staff exchanges, development of joint educational programs, as well as cooperation in research and technological innovation, especially in the fields of agriculture and information technology.
In his speech, Agung Wahyono, SP., M.Si., Ph. D stated that this collaboration is part of Polije’s commitment to continue expanding its international network and developing programs that are relevant to global developments. “We hope that this collaboration can improve the quality of education and provide opportunities for Polije and KNU students and staff to exchange knowledge and experience,” he said.
One of the main focuses of this collaboration is the development of agricultural technology based on smart farming, where Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be utilized to increase the efficiency of agricultural production and environmental sustainability. Dean of Polije Information Technology, Hendra Yufit Riskianwan, who was also present at the event, explained that research cooperation in this field will be a priority to accelerate the application of modern technology in the agricultural sector.
The signing of this MoU was welcomed by academics and students from both institutions. This cooperation is expected to open more opportunities for students and academic staff to access high-quality education, collaborative research, and innovation in technology and agriculture.
With this MoU, Polije further strengthens its position as a vocational university that is active in international collaboration, while supporting the goal of globalization of higher education in Indonesia. (rda)
