ACCELERATING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION, POLIJE PREPARES OFFLINE STUDENTS EXCHANGE PROJECT COLLABORATION WITH JIANGSU AGRI-ANIMAL HUSBANDRY VOCATIONAL COLLEGE (JSAHVC)

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) has established a longstanding partnership with Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College (JSAHVC) through various student exchange programs, both offline and online. However, the collaboration had been temporarily halted due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Now, with the situation improving, Polije is making significant efforts to reinitiate and expand this partnership through its International Cooperation Unit. One of the key initiatives set to take place in 2025 is the Offline Students Exchange Project for Odd Semester 2025/2026, which will be implemented in the Animal Production Study Program at Polije.

This exciting project is designed to enhance the quality of education at Polije and accelerate its internationalization efforts. Through the exchange program, students from Polije will have the opportunity to engage in academic and cultural exchanges with their peers from JSAHVC, further expanding their global perspectives and knowledge in the field of animal production.

Rizki Amalia, the Coordinator of the Animal Production Study Program, emphasized the importance of this program for the development of the department and the students. “This program is immensely beneficial for the development of our academic programs, particularly in terms of international exposure. The student exchange will be structured around the alignment of our curriculum for the third semester, ensuring that students from both Polije and JSAHVC can learn from each other’s expertise. We hope this collaboration will not only serve as an opportunity to exchange knowledge but also allow for the sharing of innovative technologies in animal production. Additionally, this initiative marks a significant step toward expanding our academic cooperation and is just the beginning of many more collaborative efforts aimed at supporting the TriDharma (Three Pillars of Higher Education) and fostering global partnerships.”

The collaboration between Polije and JSAHVC will include joint academic activities, research, and practical projects. Through this exchange, students will be exposed to different educational systems and practices, gaining insight into the advancements in animal husbandry and agricultural technology in both Indonesia and China. The initiative is also expected to open doors for further cooperation in other areas, including research and community service.

Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., Deputy Director of Cooperation at Polije, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “We are thrilled to support the re-opening of the Online Exchange Learning program, which had been temporarily postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This project aligns with Polije’s long-term vision of becoming a leading polytechnic institution in Asia by 2035. We believe that by strengthening international collaborations like this one with JSAHVC, we can help our students gain the necessary skills and experience to thrive in a globalized world. This program will provide students with valuable insights into international practices, making them better prepared for their future careers.”

The partnership with JSAHVC, including this new offline student exchange initiative, is expected to significantly enhance the learning experience for students at Polije, offering them valuable opportunities for academic growth, cross-cultural understanding, and professional development. By fostering such international collaborations, Polije is not only improving the quality of education but also positioning itself as a key player in the global academic landscape.

In conclusion, the upcoming Offline Students Exchange Project with Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College represents a monumental step in Polije’s efforts to build a more interconnected and globally competitive educational environment. This collaboration will help students gain practical, real-world knowledge while also contributing to the strengthening of Polije’s international reputation in higher education.. (rda)
