Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) and Swisscontact’s Skills for Competitiveness (SS4C) program held a focused coordination meeting to discuss the integration of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Green Skills into the Joint Activity Plan (JAP) 2026–2027. Both components were emphasized as vital for global vocational education.
PBL was highlighted as a Polije innovation aimed at strengthening students’ problem-solving skills through engagement with real industry challenges. Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., Polije’s Vice Director IV, asserted that PBL development is key to producing responsive graduates.
“PBL is our leading innovation, enabling students to strengthen problem-solving skills through direct engagement with industry challenges. We are committed to expanding the implementation of this PBL for the job readiness of our graduates,” said Agung Wahyono.
Green Skills emerged as a primary priority, reflecting the global industry shift towards sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Kiki Hendarin (Deputy Program Manager SS4C) added that SS4C provides technical insights to help Polije strengthen its curriculum.
“The integration of Green Skills reflects the global industry shift towards sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. We provide technical insights from international partners to help Polije strengthen its curriculum and align with emerging industry expectations,” explained Kiki Hendarin.
Both parties agreed that these initiatives will modernize learning.
“This initiative will play a pivotal role in equipping Polije students with future-ready competencies, ensuring graduates remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic and sustainability-driven global labor market,” emphasized Polije Leadership.
