Polije Organizes TOEIC 2025 to Strengthen Students Global Competitiveness

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) continues to show its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates by organizing the TOEIC 2025 program. This initiative aims to enhance students’ English proficiency and support them in achieving international standards that are highly valued in academic and professional contexts.

The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) certification program is facilitated by Polije’s Language Development Unit as part of its ongoing efforts to prepare students for international mobility, exchange programs, and global career opportunities. Through this program, students are equipped not only with language skills but also with the confidence to compete on the international stage.

The event, which took place at Polije’s Vocational Auditorium, was attended by hundreds of students from various departments. Participants were guided through a comprehensive preparation session, including listening and reading simulations, test-taking strategies, and final practice tests to familiarize themselves with the TOEIC format before taking the actual certification exam.

Vice Director for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Agung Wahyono, Ph. D expressed that this initiative reflects Polije’s strategic effort to build a global mindset among its students. He emphasized that English mastery is a crucial component for students who aspire to participate in international programs such as the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) and overseas internships.

Polije is now officially recognized as a TOEIC test center in Jember, making it the first vocational institution in the region to provide direct access to international certification tests. This development allows students, faculty members, and the local community to take the TOEIC test without the need to travel to other cities such as Surabaya or Malang.

The establishment of this local test center represents Polije’s strong commitment to providing accessible international qualifications. By lowering geographical and financial barriers, the institution ensures that more students can benefit from obtaining globally recognized certification that supports their academic and professional advancement.

This program is also in line with Polije’s long-term vision to become a leading vocational higher education institution in Asia by 2035. Strengthening foreign language competence is one of the main strategies to achieve global competitiveness and contribute to the national goal of producing graduates with international capabilities.

Through TOEIC 2025, Polije reinforces its dedication to empowering students with essential global skills. With internationally certified English proficiency, Polije graduates are expected to be more competitive, adaptable, and ready to face the challenges of the global workforce. As Dr. Wahyono stated, “Polije is not only preparing students to work but to excel and lead in the international arena.”
