In a vibrant celebration of unity, health, and innovation, Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) commemorated its 37th anniversary with a large-scale “Jalan Sehat” (fun walk) on Sunday, 2 November 2025. The event gathered students, lecturers, staff, alumni, and community members at the GOR Perjuangan 45 Polije, creating a lively atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and togetherness.
A highlight of the event was the mass milk-drinking session featuring fresh milk produced by Polije’s Teaching Factory (TEFA) Milk unit. As thousands of participants completed the walk, they joined simultaneously in drinking the milk—symbolizing health awareness and showcasing the institution’s innovation in agricultural technology and applied learning.
The TEFA Milk initiative embodies Polije’s commitment to experiential education, allowing students to manage all aspects of milk production—from milking and processing to packaging and marketing. This activity demonstrates how vocational education can directly connect academic learning with real industrial practice.
The theme of this year’s celebration, “Berkarya dan Berdampak untuk Negeri” (Create and Impact for the Nation), represents Polije’s dedication to producing graduates who contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development through creativity, competence, and innovation. The event also featured an UMKM bazaar, children’s drawing competition, and live entertainment, emphasizing community engagement and local empowerment.
Through this celebration, Polije reaffirmed its vision to become a world-class polytechnic in the field of applied science, technology, and business that is environmentally sustainable and globally competitive. Its mission includes implementing high-quality applied education, fostering innovation through research and entrepreneurship, strengthening cooperation with industry and government, and enhancing internationalization.
The internationalization strategy of Polije continues to be reflected through various collaborative activities such as student and lecturer exchanges, joint degree programs, and international internships. These efforts aim to strengthen global competencies and expand Polije’s reputation as a center of vocational excellence recognized worldwide.
The 37th anniversary “Jalan Sehat” celebration, with its symbolic milk-drinking activity, not only promoted a healthy lifestyle but also embodied Polije’s core values—innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. It served as a reminder that education at Polije is not only about academic achievement but also about creating real impact for people, industries, and the nation.
