POLIJE Celebrates Its 37th Anniversary with a Healthy Walk and Mass Milk-Drinking Event

Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) joyfully celebrated its 37th anniversary through a vibrant “Jalan Sehat” or healthy walk event on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Thousands of participants, including lecturers, staff, students, alumni, and representatives from branch campuses, gathered on the main campus to join the celebration. The event symbolized unity, health awareness, and the spirit of togetherness among the POLIJE academic community.

A unique highlight of the celebration was the simultaneous milk-drinking moment featuring “Tefa Milk,” a dairy product developed entirely by POLIJE’s Teaching Factory (Tefa) program. Thousands of participants enjoyed the milk together, creating an inspiring symbol of innovation and collaboration between education, research, and entrepreneurship. This moment reflected POLIJE’s commitment to strengthening practical-based education while promoting healthy lifestyles.

The milk used in this event was processed and packaged by POLIJE students under the supervision of lecturers and technical staff. From collecting fresh milk in the dairy production unit to processing through homogenization, pasteurization, and bottling, every stage of production applied real industrial standards. This provided valuable hands-on learning for students while ensuring product quality and safety.

POLIJE Director Saiful Anwar expressed pride in the success of the event and the achievements of the Teaching Factory program. He emphasized that the celebration was not only a form of gratitude for the institution’s long journey but also a reflection of POLIJE’s dedication to innovation and community service. “Our students learn not just to understand theories, but to create real products that have economic and social impact,” he said.

In addition to the main activities, the event featured various supporting programs, including a bazaar for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), a children’s coloring competition, and musical performances. These side events strengthened relationships among the academic community, alumni, and local residents while showcasing POLIJE’s commitment to empowering the community through education and collaboration.

The celebration also served as a platform to introduce POLIJE’s applied innovations to the public. Tefa Milk, one of the institution’s flagship products, represents POLIJE’s success in combining academic knowledge with real industry practices. The product has also become a medium for entrepreneurship training, helping students understand every aspect of product development, from production and branding to marketing.

Aligned with its vision of becoming a leading polytechnic in agrotechnotropics with ASEAN competitiveness, POLIJE continues to promote internationalization through practical innovation. The spirit of this celebration reflects how POLIJE combines local wisdom with global standards—transforming learning outcomes into tangible contributions to society and industry.

As POLIJE enters its 37th year, the institution reaffirms its commitment to advancing vocational education that produces skilled graduates, supports local industries, and contributes to national and international development. The “Jalan Sehat” and mass milk-drinking celebration was more than just a festive occasion—it was a powerful statement of POLIJE’s dedication to health, innovation, and sustainable community growth.
