UiTM Malaysia Students and Lecturers Conclude Student Mobility Program at Politeknik Negeri Jember

After completing a series of academic and cultural activities at Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE), students and lecturers from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia officially concluded their Student Mobility Program and departed back to Malaysia. The program, which took place over several weeks, served as a valuable platform for academic exchange, cultural immersion, and institutional collaboration between POLIJE and UiTM.

During their stay in Jember, the UiTM delegation actively participated in various academic workshops, joint lectures, and practical classes in several departments at POLIJE. These activities provided an opportunity for students to experience Indonesia’s vocational education system, particularly in agriculture, technology, and entrepreneurship. The program also enabled lecturers to exchange teaching methodologies and explore future research collaborations with POLIJE counterparts.

Beyond the classroom, the UiTM participants took part in a range of cultural and community engagement activities. They visited local industries, explored Jember’s cultural heritage, and interacted with local students to learn about Indonesian traditions and values. One of the highlights of their stay was a joint visit to Tanoker Ledokombo and Papuma Beach, which offered them firsthand experience of Jember’s rich cultural and natural landscape.

POLIJE’s Vice Director Planning, Collaboration and Information System, Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., expressed appreciation for UiTM’s active participation throughout the program. He emphasized that this collaboration reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to fostering cross-border learning experiences that contribute to ASEAN academic and cultural integration.

Representatives from UiTM also conveyed their gratitude to POLIJE for the warm hospitality and well-organized activities. They acknowledged that the program not only broadened students’ academic perspectives but also strengthened friendship and mutual understanding between Malaysia and Indonesia.

As the delegation departed from Jember to Malaysia, the atmosphere was filled with heartfelt farewells, symbolizing the strong bonds built through learning and collaboration. Both institutions expressed optimism that this program would serve as a foundation for continued cooperation in the future.

Through this mobility initiative, POLIJE and UiTM have reaffirmed their shared vision of preparing globally competent graduates equipped with intercultural awareness, practical skills, and collaborative spirit—essential values in the modern higher education landscape.
