Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) held a warm and vibrant Welcoming Ceremony for the UiTM MARA Melaka delegation as part of the International Mobility and Community Service Program. The event took place in the POLIJE Auditorium and was attended by POLIJE’s leadership, lecturers, students, and representatives from the International Affairs Office. The ceremony marked the official opening of a week-long collaboration between the two institutions.
The ceremony began with the registration of participants, followed by an opening segment led by the Master of Ceremony. To symbolize cultural friendship and artistic exchange, the audience was treated to a beautiful Pendet Traditional Dance performance by members of UKM LUMUT, one of POLIJE’s student activity units known for preserving traditional Indonesian arts.
After the opening performance, participants stood together to sing the Indonesian National Anthem and Mars POLIJE, reflecting unity and institutional pride. The atmosphere in the auditorium was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of international camaraderie as both Indonesian and Malaysian participants joined in the event.
The next part of the agenda included an opening prayer delivered by Agus Riyanto, S.E., M.Si, followed by a series of welcoming speeches. Representing UiTM MARA Melaka, Ms. Nur Aqilah Norwahi expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by POLIJE and highlighted the significance of this program in enhancing students’ communication and intercultural skills.
The welcoming remarks continued with a speech by Enik Rukiati, S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of the Department of Language, Communication, and Tourism, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration in enriching academic quality and broadening students’ global perspectives. The event then featured an address from Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., Director of POLIJE, who warmly welcomed the delegation and encouraged both institutions to continue fostering partnerships in education, research, and community development.
A student representative from UiTM MARA also shared an inspiring speech, expressing excitement to learn from POLIJE’s environment, culture, and local communities. The moment symbolized the spirit of youth collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. Following the speeches, POLIJE presented pins of appreciation to UiTM lecturers and students as a gesture of friendship and academic solidarity.
The ceremony continued with a group photo session, capturing the joyful and historic moment of partnership between the two institutions. The program then proceeded to the Guest Lecture Session, moderated by a POLIJE representative, where UiTM lecturers shared insights on communication and cultural exchange under the theme “Speak to Connect.”
The Welcoming Ceremony concluded with closing remarks from the MC. The event not only celebrated the arrival of UiTM MARA Melaka participants but also marked another milestone in POLIJE’s journey toward strengthening international cooperation. The collaboration is expected to bring long-term benefits in cultural understanding, academic development, and shared learning experiences between Indonesia and Malaysia.
