Polije showcases innovation through international fish fillet competition at AITeC 7 2025

The Agricultural Innovation and Technology Competition (AITeC) 7 2025 at Jember State Polytechnic (Polije) once again featured a variety of exciting categories, including the Fish Fillet Processing Competition, held at the Perjuangan 45 Sports Hall courtyard.

The competition tested participants’ skills in performing fish fillet techniques quickly, accurately, hygienically, and in accordance with industry standards. Contestants enthusiastically demonstrated their precision and professionalism before the judges and spectators.

Polije Director Saiful Anwar, S.TP., M.P., emphasized that this category aims to sharpen students’ competencies in fish processing.

“The fillet competition trains not only speed and precision but also instills the principles of hygiene and product quality, which are crucial in the fisheries industry,” he stated.

He further explained that AITeC 7 serves as a platform for students to innovate and compete, preparing them to face real-world challenges.

“We want our students to be ready for professional careers or entrepreneurship by engaging in hands-on, competitive experiences,” he added.

Participants came from various universities, including several international institutions, underscoring AITeC’s growing reputation as an international event that connects ideas, innovation, and cross-cultural skills.

The competition drew lively attention from the audience, who watched closely as contestants demonstrated each step of the filleting process from cutting and cleaning to producing high-quality fish fillets.

Beyond being a skill-based competition, the event also encouraged students to explore the potential of the fisheries sector as a key component of agricultural development. Through this initiative, Polije continues to strengthen its role in producing innovative, competent, and globally competitive graduates ready to contribute to the advancement of Indonesia’s food and fisheries industries.
