Eight Chinese Students from JSAHVC Visit SD Rukun Harapan for Cultural Exchange and Mandarin Language Observation

Eight international students from Jiangsu Agri Animal Husbandry Vocational College (JSAHVC), China, who are currently studying at Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE), visited SD Rukun Harapan 3 Bahasa Jember as part of a cultural exchange and language observation program. This activity served as an opportunity for students to share Chinese culture while observing how Mandarin is integrated as a foreign language in the school’s teaching process.

The visiting students were accompanied by representatives from the International Office (Kantor Urusan Internasional – KUI) of POLIJE and Professor Wang Lihong from JSAHVC. They received a warm welcome from teachers and students of SD Rukun Harapan 3 Bahasa, who enthusiastically engaged in the interactive activities and conversations prepared by the visiting group.

Throughout the visit, the Chinese students shared cultural performances, introduced simple Mandarin vocabulary, and engaged in classroom interactions that encouraged language exchange. Meanwhile, the elementary students confidently demonstrated their Mandarin speaking skills, reflecting the school’s innovative approach in implementing multilingual education.

Professor Wang Lihong praised the school’s initiative to incorporate Mandarin as one of its instructional languages, emphasizing that such programs not only strengthen cultural ties but also nurture global competencies among young learners.

This visit is part of the student exchange program between POLIJE and JSAHVC, which resumed after the pandemic hiatus. The visit concluded with a group photo as a symbolizing a shared commitment to cross-cultural learning, educational innovation, and international friendship.
