Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) continues to expand its strategic collaborations with leading industries to enhance the quality of vocational education and student competencies. As part of this effort, POLIJE conducted official visits to PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) and PT Futura Energi to explore opportunities for structured internship programs and broader cooperation in applied technology.
At PT PAL Indonesia, the POLIJE delegation was warmly welcomed by the board of directors and management. Discussions focused on the development of a structured internship program that will provide POLIJE students with real-world learning experiences in the maritime sector. The program is designed to equip students with technical expertise, soft skills, and insights into international industry standards.
The visit was supported by the Skills for Competitiveness (S4C) Swisscontact Indonesia team, represented by Senior Program Officer, Benaya Jaya, who provided valuable input on aligning vocational education with industry needs and strengthening the link between curriculum and workplace competencies.
The delegation then continued the agenda with a visit to PT Futura Energi, a company engaged in renewable energy solutions. This session emphasized the potential for collaboration in applied research, student internships, and technology development in the field of sustainable energy. The visit was further enriched by the participation of lecturers from POLIJE’s Department of Agricultural Technology, who accompanied the team to ensure academic–industry alignment, particularly in areas relevant to agricultural and energy innovation.
Both visits underscored POLIJE’s strong commitment to advancing the link and match agenda between vocational education and industry. By engaging directly with major industry players, POLIJE aims to create impactful internship programs, foster innovation, and produce graduates who are competitive in both national and international markets.
