Polije Holds Departure Ceremony for Joint Degree Students to Wuxi University of Technology, China

Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) held a virtual Departure Ceremony for four students from the Diploma 3 Computer Engineering Study Program who will soon depart to China for a Joint Degree Program with Wuxi University of Technology (WXUT). The event, conducted via Zoom, took place on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 14.00 WIB.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from Polije’s leadership, including academic and cooperation officials, lecturers, staff, parents, and the participating students. Among those present were Agung Wahyono, S.P., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Director for Cooperation, Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, Planning, and Cooperation Division, Agus Riyanto, S.E., M.Si., Head of the International Affairs Office, Vigo Dewangga, SS., M.Pd., Head of the Information Technology Department, Hendra Yufit Riskiawan, S.Kom., M.Cs., and Coordinator of the Computer Engineering Study Program, I Gede Wiryawan, S.Kom., M.Kom. The event also featured remarks from department heads and program coordinators, who expressed their full support and encouragement to the departing students.

The four Computer Engineering students are scheduled to leave for China on September 2, 2025. Through this Joint Degree Program, they will continue their academic journey at Wuxi University of Technology, gaining international exposure, advanced technical knowledge, and cross-cultural experiences to strengthen their competencies in the global workforce.

In his speech, Agus Riyanto emphasized the importance of this program in broadening students’ perspectives and enhancing Polije’s reputation in international collaboration. “This program is not only a milestone for the students but also for Polije in building stronger academic partnerships and preparing graduates who are globally competitive,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Agung Wahyono highlighted that the Joint Degree Program serves as a strategic step in strengthening Polije’s international cooperation network. He encouraged students to maximize this valuable opportunity, not only to excel academically but also to build character, adaptability, and resilience in an international environment.

The parents of the students also joined the event, expressing pride and gratitude for the opportunity given to their children. The departing students, meanwhile, conveyed their commitment to making the most of this international study experience and bringing honor to Polije.

The Departure Ceremony closed with well wishes from faculty members and participants, encouraging the students to embrace challenges and excel in their studies at Wuxi University of Technology. This program marks another step forward in Polije’s mission to foster international cooperation and create pathways for its students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global environment.
