Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije), through its Department of Business, took part in a review, audience, and evaluation session on the development of Tax Centers with the Head of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Regional Office III East Java. The agenda, held at the Jember Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama Jember), brought together five Tax Centers from UIN KHAS Jember, University of Jember, ITS Mandala, Muhammadiyah University of Jember, and Polije.
During the meeting, the Head of DJP Regional Office III East Java emphasized the need to expand Tax Center programs. Previously, activities were mainly focused on assisting employees in filing their personal tax returns (SPT). Moving forward, Tax Centers are also expected to target corporate taxpayers.
In response, Polije highlighted its readiness to anticipate this policy shift. Notably, Polije’s Tax Center became the first in Jember Regency to conduct training on Coretax, the new DJP application for filing annual tax returns that will be officially implemented in 2026.
Dessy Putri Andini, S.E., M.M., Head of the Business Department at Polije, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the expanded role of Tax Centers.
“At Polije, we are committed to staying adaptive to new DJP policies. We conducted Coretax training earlier to ensure that both students and faculty mentors are prepared to assist taxpayers, whether individuals or corporations. Our hope is that Polije Tax Center can become the frontliner of tax literacy and services in Jember,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sugeng Hartanto, S.E., M.Akun., lecturer at the Public Sector Accounting Program, described the expansion toward corporate taxpayers as both a challenge and an opportunity.
“Providing assistance to corporate taxpayers requires deeper technical expertise. Therefore, students must be equipped with strong competencies in accounting and taxation. This is an opportunity for Polije to produce graduates who are job-ready,” he explained.
Echoing this, Oryza Ardhiarisca, S.E., S.Si., M.ST., also a lecturer in Public Sector Accounting, underscored the importance of mastering modern taxation technology.
“Coretax is a new system that will become the national standard. With the early experience we have initiated, we believe Polije students can be pioneers in mastering this application while guiding the community through the digital taxation transition,” he noted.
Through this initiative, Polije reaffirms its role as a vocational campus not only focused on education but also actively supporting government programs by strengthening public tax literacy.
