On the second day of its Public Service Quality Training, Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) reinforced the importance of ethics in public service delivery as a cornerstone of institutional professionalism. The session focused on ethical behavior, respectful communication, and consistent adherence to institutional values as part of its long-term strategy to develop a clean, accountable, and citizen-oriented service environment.
Participants, including administrative and front-line staff, engaged in interactive discussions and role-play scenarios designed to simulate real-world service challenges. These activities encouraged them to uphold integrity, remain calm in difficult interactions, and apply empathetic approaches in everyday communication. Ethics was not only discussed as a concept but practiced as an institutional standard.
Through scenario-based learning, service providers were trained to handle common public service dilemmas—ranging from complaints and misunderstandings to conflict resolution—by applying ethical judgment. The session emphasized that professionalism is not only about efficiency, but also about trustworthiness and personal responsibility in representing the institution.
This ethics-focused training is part of Polije’s broader efforts to establish a strong Integrity Zone across its campus. Strengthening the ethical foundation of service providers supports the development of a corruption-free, transparent, and people-centered administrative culture. This initiative also reflects Polije’s commitment to internal governance reform and public trust-building.
The emphasis on ethics and service excellence contributes directly to Polije’s efforts in building a strong institutional reputation. High-quality public service backed by ethical conduct enhances the image of the institution, helping it to gain greater recognition at the national and international levels.
Such reputation-building is essential for Polije in realizing its vision to become a leading vocational polytechnic in Indonesia and an internationally recognized institution by 2035. Through consistent training, innovation, and values-based professionalism, Polije seeks to position itself as a model of service excellence within the global vocational education landscape.
Polije understands that institutional performance is shaped not only by academic quality but also by the integrity of its services. A trusted reputation among stakeholders—students, government, partners, and the community—strengthens collaboration opportunities and reinforces the institution’s credibility at every level.
Moving forward, Polije will continue to scale up ethics and service training across all departments, aligning every element of service delivery with its core values. Through these continuous efforts, the institution aims to create a public service ecosystem that upholds integrity, builds trust, and drives Polije’s progress toward national excellence and international recognition.
