Three students from Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE), Indonesia, received the prestigious Outstanding Graduate Award from Wuxi University of Technology (WXUT) during the graduation ceremony of the international class program held in Wuxi, China. The award recognized their exceptional academic achievements and exemplary conduct throughout the three-year joint education program between POLIJE and WXUT.
The students honored with this recognition were Shamir Faizal Thalib, Syahrul Alam, and Ahyar Nur Alif. All three are part of the International Class of Computer Engineering under the Department of Information Technology at POLIJE, which follows a “1 year in Indonesia – 2 years in China” educational format.
The award ceremony took place on stage in front of WXUT’s academic leadership and fellow international graduates. Each outstanding student received a certificate and bouquet as a symbol of their excellence and commitment during the program. Their achievements were applauded not only for academic performance but also for their active engagement and positive attitude throughout their stay in China.
These awards reflect the strong capabilities of POLIJE students in adapting to international academic environments and excelling beyond expectations. WXUT’s recognition of these students serves as a proud milestone for both institutions, emphasizing the success of the cross-border collaboration in vocational and applied education.
Although no POLIJE representatives attended the event in person, the ceremony was followed closely via hybrid video conference. The international office and department representatives of POLIJE expressed their heartfelt congratulations and pride for the award recipients.
Throughout the three years of study, the students were exposed to cutting-edge technological education, intercultural experiences, and collaborative research opportunities that have significantly shaped their academic and professional competencies.
Speaking after receiving the award, Shamir Faizal Thalib shared, “This recognition means so much to me. Studying abroad in China was not always easy, but it pushed me to grow and become a better version of myself. I’m thankful to both POLIJE and WXUT for the knowledge, support, and unforgettable experiences.”
In their reflections, the awardees expressed gratitude for the support from both universities and highlighted how the experience helped them grow not only as students but as global citizens. They encouraged future cohorts to take full advantage of such international learning opportunities.
This achievement stands as a testament to the quality of education at POLIJE and the successful implementation of its international class programs. It also reaffirms the importance of academic partnerships in producing skilled, internationally-minded graduates who are ready to contribute to the global workforce. (rda)
