POLIJE OPENS CAMPUS DOORS TO VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, SHOWCASES INTERNATIONAL-CLASS EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

The State Polytechnic of Jember (Polije), through its Department of Information Technology (JTI), recently welcomed an educational visit from students of SMKS PGRI 4 Tanggul. This visit served as a key moment to introduce vocational high school students to the world of higher education and the rapid advancements in information technology, including Polije’s prestigious international class program.

The event began with a presentation by Aji Seto Arifianto, S.ST., M.T., a lecturer from JTI, who explained the various admission pathways into Polije. These include SNBP (National Selection Based on Achievement), SNBT (National Selection Based on Tests), and the independent selection route. Aji Seto also highlighted JTI’s international class as one of the institution’s flagship programs, offering a globally oriented curriculum and teaching methodology aimed at preparing students to compete at the international level.

“We want students to realize that the opportunity to pursue higher education is wide open whether through national selection or independent pathways. Furthermore, our international class program equips students with the skills and experience needed to thrive in the global tech landscape,” said Aji Seto Arifianto during his session.

Following the presentation, the students were given a guided tour of the JTI facilities and laboratories. They observed firsthand how practice-based learning is conducted—ranging from software development projects to network simulation labs. The visit provided them with direct interaction with Polije students and lecturers, sparking enthusiastic discussions and deeper insights into the learning environment.

The visit concluded with an exploration of the IMCE Expo (Informatics, Management, Computer Engineering), an exhibition showcasing innovative student projects from JTI Polije. Attendees were able to experience technologies created by students, including disease prediction systems and Internet of Things (IoT) projects highlighting the real-world impact of the education offered at Polije.

“Our hope is that this visit will inspire these students to pursue their education with greater enthusiasm and begin preparing themselves for the next level particularly in the ever-evolving field of information technology,” Aji Seto added.

This educational initiative underscores Polije’s commitment to fostering collaboration between higher education and vocational schools, while also inspiring the next generation of digital talent through hands-on exposure to campus life and world-class academic programs. (rda)
