
The Engineering Department of Politeknik Negeri Jember, in collaboration with the International Office, hosted an inspiring guest lecture featuring Dr. Nor Izzati Ahmad from Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. The event, held at the Engineering Department Building, attracted 100 enthusiastic students from three study programs: D4 Renewable Energy Technology, D4 Automotive Engineering, and D4 Mechatronics Engineering Technology.
Dr. Nor Izzati delivered a captivating lecture under the theme Engineering Department Power, where she delved into the pivotal role of engineers in advancing innovation and sustainability across various sectors. Her talk covered emerging trends in engineering, including smart energy systems, automation, and the integration of artificial intelligence in mechatronics.
The session emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and adaptive thinking in solving modern engineering challenges. Dr. Nor Izzati encouraged students to develop not only technical skills but also leadership qualities and a global mindset to thrive in today’s dynamic industrial environment.
Students showed high engagement throughout the lecture, raising insightful questions and sharing their perspectives. The interactive atmosphere created a valuable space for students to explore real-world engineering problems and discuss how Malaysian and Indonesian contexts compare in terms of renewable energy development and technological innovation.
