Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) and Skills for Competitiveness (S4C) have officially finalized their Joint Activity Plan (JAP) for 2025 in a meeting held on February 18, 2025, at the Polije Leadership Meeting Room. The collaboration aims to enhance vocational education through structured internships, curriculum development, and green management initiatives.
The meeting, attended by Polije’s leadership team and S4C representatives, focused on several key areas, including institutionalizing waste management programs, strengthening structured internship schemes, and developing an industry-relevant curriculum. One of the major highlights was the ongoing waste management initiative, which has already begun implementation with full funding support from S4C.
Polije’s Director emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership with S4C marks a significant step in aligning our vocational education programs with industry needs and sustainability practices. By integrating structured internships, green management, and technical training, we are preparing our students to meet the demands of an evolving workforce.”
The JAP also includes the adaptation of international best practices in Teaching Factory (TEFA) development, in which Polije will serve as both a research and testing center. Additionally, plans to collaborate with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) aim to address challenges in industry internship placements and workforce skill alignment.
To further support student engagement, structured internships will be expanded, with a target of five industry partners in 2025. The first confirmed partnership is with PT. Satorini, and more are expected to follow.
As part of the promotional efforts, S4C will assist Polije in media outreach and branding, ensuring broader recognition of the institution’s role in vocational education and sustainable industry practices.
The finalized JAP is expected to be officially signed by both parties in the near future, marking another milestone in Polije’s commitment to innovation and excellence in vocational education. (rda)
