POLITEKNIK NEGERI JEMBER LECTURERS ENHANCE CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS THROUGH SCAMPER METHOD COURSE AT POLYTECHNIC OF MELBOURNE

In a bid to further enhance their teaching capabilities and foster innovative problem-solving approaches, two lecturers from the Department of Language, Communication, and Tourism at Politeknik Negeri Jember, , Vigo Dewangga, S.S., M.Pd. and Alfi Hidayatu Miqawati, S.Pd., M.Pd., recently participated in the Creative Thinking 101: SCAMPER Method course. This course was offered as part of the NDPKD (National Development Program for Knowledge Dissemination) held at the prestigious Polytechnic of Melbourne.

The Creative Thinking 101 course provided valuable insights into the SCAMPER method, a proven creative thinking technique widely used in both educational and business settings to stimulate innovation. SCAMPER stands for Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse, and it encourages participants to approach challenges with a fresh perspective, challenging established norms and exploring novel solutions.

During the course, Vigo and Alfi gained a deep understanding of how to apply the SCAMPER method in various professional contexts, particularly in education and tourism.
