Three lecturers from the Department of Information Technology at Politeknik Negeri Jember—Bety Etikasari, S.Pd., M.Pd.; Husin, S.Kom., M.MT.; and Pramuditha Shinta Dewi Puspitasari, S.Kom., M.Kom.—recently visited the Consulate General of Indonesia (KJRI) in Toronto to explore potential pathways for academic and institutional collaboration.
The delegation received a warm welcome from the Consul General and staff of KJRI Toronto, who expressed their appreciation for Polije’s efforts to expand its global engagement. During the meeting, the Consul General emphasized the importance of fostering international academic connections and reaffirmed KJRI’s commitment to supporting Indonesian institutions seeking partnerships abroad.
“The visit by Polije lecturers reflects a proactive approach to international collaboration. We are delighted to facilitate discussions and are ready to assist Polije in any efforts to establish partnerships, whether for exchange programs, PhD opportunities, or other academic initiatives,” stated the Consul General during the meeting.
While no formal agreements were made during this visit, the discussions served as a promising starting point. The KJRI expressed its willingness to bridge connections between Polije and Toronto-based institutions, providing essential guidance and resources to ensure successful collaboration should Polije decide to proceed.
“This visit was an excellent opportunity for us to gain insights and explore the potential for academic cooperation. The warm reception and support from KJRI Toronto inspire us to continue our efforts in building international ties,” said Bety Etikasari, S.Pd., M.Pd., speaking on behalf of the delegation.
The meeting also explored preliminary ideas for joint research, staff and student exchange programs, and opportunities for innovation in the field of information technology.
