Research

Politeknik Negeri Jember actively performsthree programs known as the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi(Three Pillars of Higher Education):education, communityService and research. Implementation of research and community service in State Polytechnic of Jember is based on the field of education; Agribusiness (production, processing, and marketing), Computers and English. Basically, this activity is to improve the competency of lecturer and to improve the quality of graduates by invitingthe students in this activity. The activity enables the lecturers to enlarge the knowledge deals with the course they teach and update the learning material which then can be transferred to the students through teaching learning process as well as direct-involvement.

The activities of the unit of research and community service (P3M) are described as follow:
• Developing of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Agribusiness.
• Designing (Engineering) various types of appropriate technology (processes and equipment) in the field of cultivation and processing of agricultural products.
• Applying information technology of agribusiness
• ApplyingEnglish to support agribusiness activity (agrotourism, marketing, and promotion).

The study of supporting factors in the development of agribusiness on a regional scale is the development of agropolitan in terms of soil fertility, availability of seeds/seeds, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, technology (process and equipment) processing of agricultural products, marketing, and capital.
