11 STUDENTS OF INFORMATICS ENGINEERING STUDY PROGRAM DEPART TO MALAYSIA FOR DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAM

Jember – Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije) again made achievements in the international scale. Eleven students from the international class Informatics Engineering Study Program were dispatched to Malaysia and Science University (MSU) to take part in a double degree program. This departure is part of Polije’s commitment to improve student competence and competitiveness at the global level.

The eleven students will study for one year at Malaysia and Science University, where they will get a double bachelor’s degree after completing lectures at both Polije and MSU. This program is expected to provide broader international insights, enrich academic experience, and improve technical skills in accordance with the needs of industry 4.0.

Deputy Director for Cooperation of Polije, Agung Wahyono, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to the students who successfully passed the selection to take part in this prestigious program. “The departure of Polije students to Malaysia and Science University is one of our efforts to improve the quality of international education at Polije. We hope that they can absorb science and technology which will be a valuable provision for their future careers,” said Agung.

This double degree program is a form of strategic cooperation between Polije and MSU in the field of higher education. This cooperation has been established for the past few years and continues to have a positive impact on both parties. In addition to enriching the curriculum, this program also allows students to gain cross-cultural learning experience and understand technology and industry trends globally.

One of the students participating in the program, Ghifari, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunities he will have in Malaysia. “This is a golden opportunity for us to study abroad and broaden our horizons. We are ready to face challenges and bring back knowledge that can be applied in Indonesia,” he said.

The students’ departure is scheduled for late Agustus 2024, and they will study in Malaysia for one full year. With this program, Polije hopes to produce graduates who are not only competent in the field of informatics, but also have broad global insights and are ready to compete in the international job market.
