As an implementation of the collaboration between State Polytechnic of Jember and Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College, students of State Polytechnic of Jember and Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College could participate in Student Exchange Program. This is marked by the official welcoming ceremony of 12 students, 10 students of Animal Science study program and 2 students of Food Technology study program, from Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College. On the same occasion, State Polytechnic of Jember sends 20 students (10 students of Animal Husbandry Production study program and the rest of students are Food Industry Technology study program).
Jiangsu China is a prestigious university located in Taizhou Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Jiansu China has 17.000 students. During study, the students will experience two different atmospheres: lecturing classes located in main campus and it has 30 hectares in size, and farm which has 250 hectares in size as practicum classes and research of animal husbandry and agriculture.
The student exchange program of State Polytechnic of Jember offers two study programs; Animal Husbandry Production and Food Industry Technology study program. This program allows the students to study in partner colleges for one semester (21 credits for 7 courses).
According to the Director of State Polytechnic of Jember, Ir. Nanang Dwi Wahyono, M.M., establishing mutualism collaboration with several prestigious higher education institutions in Asia is to achieve the vision as a leading vocational education in 2025. Moreover, Ir. Nanang Dwi Wahyono, M.M. said that the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education supports State Polytechnic of Jember become world class university. “State Polytechnic of Jember has been initiated by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education to be world class university”, he said.
In front of the students of State Polytechnic of Jember, the Director, Ir. Nanang Dwi Wahyono, M.M. hopes for their intention and willingness to learn overseas.
“ Keep your alma mater name in purest light, keep one another fully informed at all times, take care of yourself, and meet and interact with others in a new environment, Nanang Dwi Wahyono said.
On the same occasion, the chair of colaboration Affairs Ir. Nantil Bambang Eko Sulistyono, M.Si., asked for all the parents of students exchange to pray and let them study overseas for their future. “I do really hope, you can follow optimally learning activities and be a good example to spread good things, and also motivate the other students when you are back home”, Nantil Bambang Eko Sulistyono said.
In different place, Wu Feifan, an exchange student from Jiangsu China, expresses her deep appreciation in Indonesia with Mandarin dialect. She shared two-days experience after her arrival in State Polytechnic of Jember; she feels that the people of State Polytechnic of Jember wamly welcome her. “Everyone is so kind. They are much like a family, and hopefully we can adapt to a new culture, atmosphere, climate and daily food”, Lisa, her daily nickname, said.
